With the -then- looming implementation of European Union Open Banking regulation, Nationwide was in search of financial services that make people excited about big data and open banking. I thought that if our fridge can do our groceries, and our doorbell can make a video call, it's about time that our bank account does more for us than keeping our money.
So we make a bank account that improves our behaviour. Bank account that helps us to reduce smoking or to go to the gym more often.
We made the case video, submitted it to D&AD NEW BLOOD and next thing we know, they invite us to their D&AD New Blood Academy and send us a cute statue that looks like a YELLOW PENCIL.
